Why should I choose Music Moments?

Whether your goal is to become an accredited piano teacher, a professional pianist or somewhere in-between, Music Moments will create a bespoke solution for you. Jan McMillan is a highly qualified piano teacher, performer, accompanist and teacher trainer in both traditional and Suzuki approaches. She practices giving the very best teaching that encompass creative approaches and gives personalised programs to her clients of all ages and levels of ability. As a teacher, "Dr. Jan" has spent months as coordinator of piano studies at the Unviersity Pendidikan Sultan Idris, a specialist teaching university. She was awarded a high distinction for her teaching, research and community service there. She has been a guest lecturer at University of Western Australia, WA Academy of Performing, Arts and Notre dame University. She gained a Teaching and Learning scholarship from University of Western Australia 2006 and presented her findings at the Teaching and Learning Forum, 2007. Jan was the inaugural recipient of the Humphrey Parker Davies Scholarship (2004) from ANCOS and investigated Orff Schulwerk and the Piano in Salzburg and Munich. As a researcher Jan has written many research papers and articles that demonstrate her knowledge of current music education and piano pedagogy practices worldwide including most recently the National Conference for Keyboard Pedagogy in Chicago 2011, where she was one of only 9 international speakers selected from around the world.
